joe biden back from the battleground state of wisconsin. he says he is stumping on the opposition home court. stansville, wisconsin, that is paul ryan's hometown just about 20 minutes north of beloit. you're looking at live pictures where the vice president is going to be speaking shortly. biden's visit comes just today after the president's trip to green bay, and here's why. take a look at the latest cnn poll of polls for wisconsin. of likely voters president obama leads with 51%. mitt romney has 44%. this is an average of several polls. now, one man, he was so desperate for gas in new york, he reportedly pulled a gun in a waiting -- waiting in the line there. you can see. we'll show you how desperate this situation has become. i don't spend money on gasoline. i am probably going to the gas station about once a month. last time i was at a gas station was about...i would say... two months ago. i very rarely put gas in my chevy volt. i go to the gas station such a small amount that i forget how to put gas in my car. it with even a little bit with joe biden last night, showing up on popular tv. they've been trying to drive out that youth vote. they've been on college campuses. their turnout machines always involve college campuses, texting, social network. looking at those figures, we're seeing that unemployment among 20 to 24-year-olds actually went up this month from last month. so it is a grim picture for that particular demographic, which is the president's demographic. so the question is, can he still drive them out on, you know, the promises of the future? i think african-american votes, woef heard a lot about how they're not enthusiastic. everyone i've talked to said they are just not seeing that in early voting. they say that the numbers are up in terms of african-americans or at least even to what it was last time around. so it isn't so much african-americans, i think, who are still there in large numbers and large percentages, but the youth vote is quite problematic for the president. >> who can fix it? and who thinks -- which candidate can fix it? number one issue is jobs. if that's the issue be
poll shows a dead heat. and 49% of the independents go for president obama and joe biden, 47% go for governor romney and paul ryan. moderate voters who tend to live in the suburbs, many of them independents, 60% for the president to 38% for governor romney. if you're looking at this poll and thinking what is governor romney need to improve on in the final days? he probably needs to boost his numbers with independents if he wants to get over the top. i can tell you in talking and e-mailing with both campaigns today, wolf, they agree with our numbers. they would have it more of an exact tie as oppose today a statistical tie. that's why the candidates are back here so often. they view colorado as a dead heat and both need the nine electoral votes here. if you look at the path to 270, colorado would help both candidates greatly get to the finish line. >> as close as it appears to be, could be a long night counting the votes in colorado. john, thanks very much. a number of other swing state polls from other news organizations also show a very, very tight race. our chief political anal
